CARPET CAVALCADE (II)

by on Sep.23, 2009, under Home

CARPET CAVALCADE (II)Polypropylene are very hard-wearing and stain resistant. Modern carpet tiles are made from it, specially designed for kitchen use where spillage is a problem. A wash down with soap and warm water removes the staining material and leaves the fabric as clean as new.

The way the latest stain-resistance carpets are made allows even liquid spillages to remain to the surface and not soak in for quite a while, if ever, so that cleaning is just a matter of soaking up.

Nylon, viscose and rayon carpets are like other man-made fibers, but generally without the resilience. They are often cheaper than other carpeting, and may be used as a small percentage mix with other fibers or wool.

Patterns

Carpets with patterns are generally single-level carpets, with all fibers cut to the same length. Plain color carpets in man-made fibers may be sculpted or embossed, so that the different levels in the surface hide feet marks or other points of wear.

A carpet may be loop-pile but this style is giving way of late to shag piles which are popular with bedrooms and the interiors of custom-built vans!

The tousled surface with thicken fibers are an inch long or even much more offer superb comfort to the feet, especially when stepping out of bed on a winter morning. Cord carpets are useful for spare rooms, nurseries (used with rugs? and halls staircases, where a good quality cord offers hard wear and many years before showing noticeable scuff marks).
